    Why We Exist

CMC-S is a non-profit, all volunteer organization of pre K-16 mathematics educators representing the diversity of our eight-county* Southern California region.

We serve the professional learning, advocacy, and outreach goals inherent in the CMC mission.

In particular, our conferences and affiliate network foster math educators' leadership skills - so that individuals and teams of educators may realize the interdependent goals of equity and excellence in mathematics education.

Building upon the past decade of work, CMC-S is working to expand  the means for our service to members, while keeping the focus on preparing for Common Core mathematics standards (CaCCSSM) implementation.   Further, that practical tools for equity and excellence prepare every student - including English learners and students with disabilities - for the 21st century.

    How CMC Works

CMC members are actively engaged mathematics education professionals - that means you.  Join us!  CMC serves thousands of Pre-K-16 mathematics educators from across California.  CMC Boards at the state and regional levels are comprised of all-volunteer mathematics educators.

CMC State is configured in three sections; South, Central and North.  Each section's board is comprised of representatives from each affiliate of the section, along with the Executive Board.
